Innovating converging industries
Being passionate about business and product innovation Harry Strasser has been deeply involved in the digital convergence of Mobile Communications, IT and Consumer Electronics since the launch of GSM based mobile phones in 1992. He drove trendsetting solutions such as the industry's first mobile prepaid phone, Symbian based smartphones, digital platforms for payments and music downloads, Internet TV, AGPS navigation, industrial WLAN, and IP based broadband solutions for enterprises and consumers.
In his role as Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer at Philips he initiated in 2000 the "Connected Planet Vision" for connected consumer products and technologies. He drove the spin off of a venture capital funded messaging solution, Magic4 Ltd., that became market leader and merged into Europe's leading mobile software company, Myriad Group.
In his subsequent role as CTO & Senior Vice President Innovation at Siemens Harry co-developed the award-winning "Lifeworks" vision about converging networks, devices and applications and was deeply involved in Siemens "Picture of the Future" trend studies. He set up a worldwide innovation program and led more than 30 innovation projects at the former €17b telecommunication and enterprise business group, one of the world's largest communication companies in 2005. In cooperation with Deutsche Telekom and other technology partners he showcased one of the first Smart Home projects equipped with sophisticated technologies in a real life family home in the center of Berlin/Germany.
Harry's focus is now on connected mobility, autonomous driving, Internet of Things, wearable technologies and other innovative technology trends and solutions. He advocates a humanization of technologies that needs to move from high tech to shy tech enabling a seamlessly connected life.
